How to prepare for your food photo shoot at your restaurant
Plan to do the shoot before restaurant opening or during slow hours
I was able to photography everything on the Jus Tacos menu within 5 hours. I also shot the interior, exterior and headshots for the business.
It’s best to have a prep cook to chop up pretty looking vegetables/ingredients that are in the food to use for props
It’s best to have someone to decorate and clean the plate before photos
It’s also a good idea to have someone in charge of the menu tracking to cross off items that were photographed
Consider where your photos will go and what size and crop format you will need them. If you’re unsure, this may be an easy google search. Please share this information with me before the end of the photo shoot.
I will need a clean microfiber cloth, paper towels, cleaning products, a table, chair, your restaurants napkins, straws, branding color pieces to use as props in photos.
Please note to get the true to life colors of your menu items, I will need no artificial lights - so room lighting will need to be turned off during the session. Sometimes this works to photograph food near a window/outdoors or break room I can control my own lights.
